Securing sufficient funding for our developmental programmes is an ongoing challenge for PPT and represents the major constraint on our ability to enhance and up-scale the work we do, thereby increasing the number of beneficiaries we are able to reach. PPT is currently seeking additional funding to sustain and enhance the following priorities:

• Survey and infrastructure planning for ECD centres in under-serviced urban and rural communities.
• Support for Micro and Informal Enterprises operating mainly within the informal economy.
• Special needs housing project preparation: Funding is utilized to plan and prepare special needs housing projects (e.g. providing shelter and improved care for orphans and vulnerable children or victims of domestic abuse). Support is provided to suitable welfare organizations/NPOs. Feasibility and sustainability is carefully assessed. Capital funding is leveraged from various provincial Departments of Human Settlements for construction.
• Informal settlement upgrading preparation funding.

Funding is also sought for the following:

• Multi purpose project preparation facility: Funding will be utilized to bridge-finance the preparation of a range of pro-poor developmental projects using the classic PPT model. When capital funding is approved, the preparation bridging finance is repaid into the Facility and it then utilized to finance the preparation of new projects.
• Participative Economic Action Planning (PEAPs) of informal settlement upgrading and transformation.
• Participative Community Action Planning (PCAP).
• PPT operating overheads (core funding).
